Product Environmental Footprint (PEF)

EU

The Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) is a multi-criteria measure of the environmental performance of a good or service throughout its life cycle. Currently the EC is exploring how to use the PEF in policies.

Please note:

For water depletion the water use related to local scarcity of water is determined. Local importance of other indicators can be taken into account in the weighting of the impacts based on the judgement of the rapporteur.
